Overview

We were instructed to support the development of a long-term home for an individual with additional needs, working on behalf of the landlord to ensure the property could meet both the requirements of the future resident and the care provider supporting them. The objective was not simply to provide accommodation, but to create a sustainable home that would support independent living for years to come.

The Detail

Acting in a consultancy capacity, Homes For All worked closely with the landlord, care provider and wider stakeholders to understand the specific requirements of the future occupant. We then advised on the adaptations and improvements required to make the bungalow suitable for long-term supported living.

A key part of our role was bridging the gap between the property and care sectors, ensuring the practical needs of the care provider could be delivered within a home environment that remained comfortable, safe and sustainable for the resident.

By coordinating all parties and aligning property, care and operational requirements, we helped create a housing solution that delivered positive outcomes for both the individual and the landlord.

The Outcome

A purpose-adapted bungalow transformed into a long-term home for an individual with additional needs. The completed project provided a stable and supportive living environment, whilst delivering the security of a long-term tenancy arrangement for the landlord.

By bringing together property expertise and specialist housing knowledge, we helped create a housing solution that enables independent living, supports positive life outcomes and provides lasting value for all parties involved.
