Overview
We were instructed to establish a specialist housing solution in Bury that could support a tendered service commissioned by the local authority. The objective was to provide high-quality accommodation that met the needs of both the Registered Provider and residents, whilst securing the long-term future of the scheme.
The Detail
Homes For All initially secured control of the property through a lease arrangement, bringing together the requirements of the local authority, care provider and wider housing stakeholders to establish a high-quality supported accommodation scheme.
The property comprises an all en-suite HMO, with each resident benefiting from private facilities whilst retaining access to the support structure delivered by the Registered Provider. Following the successful operation of the scheme, we acquired the property, allowing us to secure its long-term future and provide certainty for both the provider and residents.
This approach enabled the accommodation to move beyond a short-term housing solution and become a permanent asset serving the needs of the local community.
The Outcome
A high-quality specialist housing scheme successfully delivered and secured through long-term ownership. The property continues to provide all en-suite accommodation within the borough, supporting residents through a professionally managed and established service.
By initially leasing and subsequently acquiring the property, we were able to create certainty for all stakeholders whilst preserving an important housing resource for the community. Exactly the type of long-term, sustainable housing solution Homes For All is committed to delivering.
